Since becoming involved with the "burlesque" scene in NYC, my output on this website has suffered, with the sub-fortunate result of distancing me from the "blogging" scene. Indeed, there has been little to no overlap between these disparate social circles, as -- despite my incessant flogging of the medium -- it seems that few bloggers (with the notable exception of a very occasional drunken foray by Mssr. Lockhart Steele) would be caught dead at a burlesque show, and no self-respecting burlesque performer would even think of socializing with a someone who called himorherself a "blogger".
All that is about to change, thanks to the efforts of burlesque star Clams Casino and her compatriot Neil O'Fortune, who have thought it wise to produce a show featuring representatives of both parties. In the blogging corner: Lindsayism, a woman with whom this web presence "exchanged links" several years ago... and one of the precious few who retains that link on her site to this very day. In the burlesque corner: the aforementioned and beautiful Clams Casino, who wowed the audience with her tribute to Guinness at last night's Pinchbottom's Drinking Problem. Somewhere in the middle, leaning heavily towards burlesque, is Jonny Porkpie, sometime blogger and the Burlesque Mayor of New York City.
And where will this momentous crossing-of-paths occur? Where else but at...
