It's time to get those calendars out, for September might just be Jonny Porkpie's busiest month ever!
It begins on Friday, September 1 @ 9pm, when The Burlesque Mayor of NYC will appear as a solo performer at the opening party of the New York Burlesque Festival.
Then, on Saturday, September 2, Porkpie will appear in the festival again as a backup dancer... since I'm not sure how much can be revealed beforehand, I'll keep mum. Come and see!
On Wednesday, September 6th @ 10pm, Porkpie will appear in Surf Burlesque on the Bowery at the Bowery Poetry club, as part of The Belles of the Bowery show presented by the fabulous Jo Boobs.
DJ J. Porkpie spins on Friday, September 8th for the return of Wasabassco's Burlesque at the Living Room in Brooklyn.
Plans are afoot for Porkpie to join Nasty for an encore presentation of their Jimmy Olsen/Lois Lane number at Sunday, September 10th @ 10pm during Sweet & Nasty Burlesque.
Wednesday, September 13 @ 8pm marks the return of Jonny to the live game show What's My Line NYC, enabled by and starring Miss Clams Casino and Neil O'Fortune.
Friday, September 15 @ 10pm is the next Pinchbottom's Sub:Conscious: "EAT ME: a burlesque cooking show." Apparently, we turned away more than 60 people for Pow! Zap! Boob!, and this one has a fantastically tasty lineup, so Get your tickets now.
There may be something speakeasy-related for Saturday, September 16 @ 10pm -- updates as events warrant.
On Sunday, September 17th @ 2pm, JVG gets his turn with a reading of the revised version of MASTER CRIMINALS as part of the TheaterSounds "Criminal Intent" weekend.
The month rounds out on Friday, September 29 @ 10pm with the Sweet & Nasty "Family Style" show at Coney Island's Burlesque at the Beach. This is the final burlesque show of the season (the very same season in which Nasty won the title "Cheese Queen of Coney Island"), so catch it before the entire area is torn down by developers to make room for a strip mall!
In other news, Pinchbottom has been getting some nice press recently -- Nasty covers our appearances in Time Out and The Village Voice over at her blog. Full Pinchbottom press rundown here.
